Milk Glass Raspberry Counter
/milkGlassRaspberryCounter
Design philosophy: refine the small UK café site into a clean, owner-maintained page with milk-glass brightness and one memorable raspberry action colour. Core beliefs: readability, real photography, and simple section order create trust; charm should come from proportion, not decoration. Strict rules: light navbar, 80vh full-width hero with soft counter photography, restrained serif headline, raspberry CTA, plain menu link, centered welcome statement, two practical image-and-copy bands, tidy menu list, and location with hours, address, phone, and map link. Typography philosophy: use Crimson Text, Libre Baskerville, or Charter for headings with Karla, Cabin, or Source Sans 3 for UI. Palette: milk white, cool dove gray, graphite, raspberry, soft black. Spacing: old-builder generous but disciplined. Motion: fades and hover darkening only. Imagery: till counter, cakes, window light, frontage. Refuses badges, icons, chalkboards, beige, gradients, review clutter. Mediocre implementation: generic pink café page. Common mistakes: too much raspberry, cramped menu rows, fake rustic props.
